First floor: Principle suite with king size double and one single and ensuite bathroom. Two double king size bedrooms. Family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. We stayed at Withypool Lodge at Exmoor Gate Lodges for 2 weeks in May - The Lodge and Park were beautiful, very well equipped and the family that owned it were very friendly, left us to it but made it clear anything we needed they would provide. The lodge was very clean and beautiful (we didnt need to bring with us half the stuff we did as everything was there). The hot tub was a favourite of all of us - so relaxing. Our ages ranged from 6 to 52 and we found plenty of days out to enjoy. Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge are a must to see. The Local Pub the Rock Inn were very friendly and excellent Food. We will definitely be going back and recommending to our friends.

With its lovely beaches beautiful countryside and fascinating history, dating back to the times of the Ancient Britons, Somerset makes a wonderful cottage holiday destination. And the best way to experience the county’s many attractions is from your base in one of our holiday cottages in Somerset. Bath has some of Britain’s most majestic Georgian architecture, as well as the famous Roman Baths (not mention great shopping). Then there’s Wells, England’s smallest city. Wandering around the cathedral close, with its unspoilt medieval lanes is like taking a step back in time. And for a real sense of mystery, there’s Glastonbury (home of the world-famous music festival), supposedly the site of King Arthur’s mythical Avalon. All await you on one of our Somerset cottage holidays. The county has more than its fair share of beach resorts too. The Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare is superb, as is the wide beach here, while Minehead and Burnham-on-Sea offer a choice of traditional seaside pleasures. Meanwhile, for nature lovers there’s the wild landscape of Exmoor, and the Mendip and Quantock Hills, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cheddar Gorge is truly stunning. Great for real Cheddar cheese too!
